Emilio Nanni. trame rosse 2011
Looking around on tumblr, I’ve been attracted to a lot of snap shots of peoples art making processes, half finished works, mistakes and studio spaces.
The 100+ hour paintings or what ever just bore me to hell now. I don’t want to be impressed, or amazed right now. I’m curious. Seeking an interesting mistake, or to smile at something new.
I loved that this was on lined paper. Plus, considering these organic looking shapes I thought about a scientists sketch book. These aren’t little shapes. Or perhaps they are. Maybe that’s the best thing about them. A world of organic creatures, science and the struggle to understand is suggested by some simple shapes. No fuss, no excess just a sketch. And I love it.
Maybe the artist doesn’t think this. Maybe I’ve just read too much into this. But the drawing is simple, and gets me excited with it’s simplicity.
